Bozzzzzzzeman

Posted by ehren

On the morning of the 4th, Miro went to the parade, I got some work done, then met him at the town 4th concert. The acts were miserable, but they tried hard, and I had another sno-cone and a 'disco dog.' While Miro stayed for the sequin-vested Mormon family / halfdozen child prodigies from Utah I walked back to the bus, warmed it up, and we headed out of town.

We stopped at a "behind the gas station" RV park halfway to Bozeman, did laundry, ate the remaining fresh food in the bus, did some work, I went for a run and was eaten alive by mosquitoes, showered, and then I played Civ II for about an hour.

On the 5th we drove to Bozeman, yet another in a stretch of very welcome sunny days. I spent the afternoon trying to work but not getting very far. I finished up my taxes and mailed them (woo!). In the evening we grooved on down to the Wal Mart and I worked another two hours before bed. I've been sleeping a ton for the last 4 days or so, trying to shake the cold. My throat is no longer sore, and I feel less like a bag of phlegm, but I'd say I'm still at 80% or less.

On the 6th we drove a few miles into the countryside to a quiet gravel turnout, and proceeded with a quick and proficient oil and filter change. We again opted not to change the coolant or transmission fluid, though we did top off the 17-quart transmission reservoir with 2-3 qt. Also, the oil pan only yielded 1.5 gallons, and usually we fill it with 2.5, so that will need watching. On the upside, the power steering fluid was still almost full, and the fuel leak is still dormant. Also, this is the last scheduled maintenance before Wisconsin. I just knocked on wood for about 10 seconds, in case anybody's wondering.

Today for lunch I went to "The Western" for the largest breakfast omelette I've ever seen, and I keep track of these things. I've been steadily working for half the afternoon, while watching the Tour de France on HD in the Rockford Coffee shop. The entire time I've been here they've been going 30 miles per hour over 120 miles, and I've walked 10 blocks. Though, I did drop off my bicycle at a local shop to get almost everything replaced (wheels, brakes, chain, etc), so that's one step closer.

I'm really struggling to come up with something exciting to report, but there isn't much. El Madre flies in tomorrow, WGBV and Steve P. arrive Friday, and we will fly fish for the weekend. In the meantime, the more work I get done, the better.
